L1 / L2 IT Systems Engineer

Job description

Responsibilities

While supporting our customers is the core of the position, our engineers are encouraged to become involved in much more than ticket resolution.

Core Technical Support:

Provide friendly, timely, and expert remote and onsite technical support to AllSector managed services clients.Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Windows desktop/server environments, hardware, applications, and peripherals.Support Microsoft 365 applications, Exchange Online, and core Azure/Intune services.Manage user accounts, permissions, and access issues within Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.Resolve networking, VPN, Wi-Fi, firewall, and connectivity issues.Utilize RMM and monitoring platforms to proactively respond to alerts and investigate potential client issues before they escalate.Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding ticket status, updates, and resolutions.Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in IT Glue and create/update ConnectWise service tickets.

Projects & Advanced Initiatives:

Assist senior engineers with client technology projects, such as Microsoft 365 migrations and infrastructure upgrades.Participate in internal technology, automation, and AI initiatives.Help test new scripts, workflows, software integrations, and plugins in real-world environments.Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks using platforms like Rewst.io.

Qualifications

We do not expect candidates to be experts in every technology listed below, but you must demonstrate a strong technical aptitude and a genuine desire to learn and research unfamiliar technologies.

Education & Professional Development:

Position-Specific Experience Levels:

Level 1 EngineerExperience: 0–2+ years in professional IT.Technical Foundation: Solid understanding of desktop and end-user support, Windows 10/11 troubleshooting, Microsoft 365 fundamentals, basic Active Directory/Entra ID knowledge, and core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPNs).

Level 2 EngineerExperience: 2–5+ years in professional IT (previous MSP or multi-client support experience preferred).Advanced Skills: Advanced Windows desktop troubleshooting and Windows Server administration; proficiency in Microsoft 365/Azure administration, Intune, and Group Policy; comprehensive understanding of networking (VLANs, firewalls, complex troubleshooting) and experience with RMM, Backup, and Endpoint Security platforms.
