Responsibilities
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.Deploy and manage virtual desktops, host pools, application delivery, and multi-session Windows environments.Ensure the VDI platform is secure, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with business requirements.Manage Azure resources including networking, storage, identity, monitoring, and virtual machines.Develop and maintain Group Policies, user profiles, and security configurations.Monitor platform performance, availability, and user experience using Azure monitoring tools.Provide Tier 3 support for complex virtual desktop, application delivery, and user access issues.Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Azure Automation, and scripting tools.Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and security teams to implement best practices.Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.Support platform modernization initiatives and continuous service improvements.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.5+ years of experience with VDI technologies and desktop virtualization.3+ years of experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or similar cloud-based VDI platforms.Strong expertise with Azure Virtual Desktop, host pools, session hosts, and application virtualization.Experience with Azure services including Azure Active Directory, Azure Networking, Azure Storage, and Azure Monitor.Hands-on experience with Windows 10/11 multi-session environments and Windows Server.Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience.Experience with Microsoft Intune, Endpoint Manager, and Group Policy administration.Knowledge of VDI security, identity management, Conditional Access, and VPN technologies.Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Splunk, or SolarWinds.Strong troubleshooting, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.Experience leading VDI projects from architecture and deployment through operational support.
Preferred Skills
Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, VMware Horizon, or other enterprise VDI platforms.Knowledge of enterprise storage technologies including SAN and NAS solutions.Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation practices.Exposure to container technologies and modern application delivery platforms.Experience supporting highly secure enterprise or government environments.
