Windows Engineer

Job description

This is a great fit for a Tier 2 / mid-level Windows Engineer who enjoys solving problems, can jump into a new environment quickly, and is comfortable working directly with customers.

What You'll Be Doing

Troubleshoot and resolve escalated Windows and infrastructure issuesSupport Windows Server and desktop environmentsWork with Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, and related Microsoft technologiesAssist with deployments, upgrades, migrations, and general infrastructure projectsTroubleshoot networking, permissions, authentication, and connectivity issuesDocument work clearly and communicate directly with technical teams and customers

What We're Looking For

Strong hands-on Windows administration and troubleshooting experienceExperience beyond traditional Tier 1/help desk supportSolid Active Directory and Microsoft ecosystem knowledgeAbility to independently troubleshoot and own technical issues through resolutionStrong communication and customer-facing skillsMSP, consulting, or multi-client experience is a strong plusPowerShell, Azure/Entra ID, VMware, or Hyper-V experience is a plus

The Details

Pay: Approximately $55/hour W2

Schedule: Full-time

Duration: Initial one-month engagement with potential to continue month-to-month

Location: Chicago / Milwaukee area with travel between customer locations 2-3 days on-site at each location per week

Travel: Mileage expenses covered (no overnight travel)
