Job description
Position Overview
Turing is seeking a highly experienced MDM Lead Engineer to serve as a senior technical owner for an enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) platform.
The ideal candidate will bring strong, hands-on expertise with Semarchy xDM, combined with deep knowledge of MDM, data engineering, data quality, data governance, SQL, and modern cloud data technologies.
This is a hands-on technical leadership position. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving MDM initiatives from requirements and data analysis through architecture, implementation, production deployment, and ongoing support. The role will also involve leading onshore/offshore engineering teams and working closely with business stakeholders, product owners, data stewards, architects, and senior technology leaders.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the technical owner and subject-matter expert for the organization's Semarchy xDM / MDM platform.
• Design, implement, enhance, and support enterprise MDM solutions using Semarchy xDM.
• Lead MDM initiatives end-to-end, from requirements gathering and source-data analysis through production implementation and support.
• Define and implement MDM capabilities including:
o Match & Merge
o Survivorship
o Golden Records
o Hierarchies
o Data Quality
o Data Stewardship
o Workflows
o Publishing and Integration
• Analyze source data, identify data-quality issues and anomalies, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend sustainable solutions.
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand data domains, business processes, source systems, and downstream data consumption.
• Design and support production-grade data pipelines and integrations.
• Review and guide technical designs, data models, SQL, pipelines, code, and implementation approaches.
• Lead and mentor onshore and offshore engineering teams.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and technically sound solutions.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong delivery ownership.
• Identify opportunities to modernize and improve existing MDM implementations.
• Integrate MDM platforms with cloud data warehouses, operational systems, APIs, and downstream analytical platforms.
• Promote modern engineering and AI-native approaches to data quality, automation, engineering productivity, and problem solving.
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of relevant engineering, data, or MDM experience.
• Strong, hands-on experience with Semarchy xDM.
• Deep understanding of enterprise Master Data Management concepts and practices.
• Proven experience implementing enterprise MDM solutions end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of:
o Match/Merge
o Survivorship
o Golden Records
o Hierarchies
o Data Quality
o Data Governance
o Data Stewardship
o Metadata
o Data Lineage
o MDM Workflows
• Strong SQL, data profiling, and data analysis skills.
• Ability to investigate data anomalies, identify patterns, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and underlying data domains.
• Solid data engineering experience, including production-grade data pipelines.
• Experience with modern data technologies such as Snowflake, Azure, Azure Data Factory (ADF), dbt, Fivetran, Python, APIs, or comparable technologies.
• Experience providing hands-on technical leadership to onshore and offshore teams.
• Strong technical design and code-review capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Product Owners, Data Stewards, business stakeholders, architects, engineers, and senior technology leadership.
• Strong ownership, problem-solving, and delivery mindset.
• Ability to work from the New York office 3 days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in Financial Services, Asset Management, Wealth Management, or Capital Markets.

• Experience integrating Salesforce with MDM platforms.
• Experience modernizing, upgrading, or re-architecting an existing MDM implementation.

o Enterprise data platforms
• Experience applying AI/GenAI to data quality, automation, engineering productivity, or data problem solving.
