Endpoint Security Engineer

Job description

The engineer provides engineering and sustainment support for endpoint security solutions, configures and installs security products in Linux environments, and works with software vendors and customers to implement enterprise-wide solutions that support business and mission goals. The position also supports secure architecture design, security infrastructure maintenance and configuration, policy management, database administration, incident investigation, and corrective measures.

The position is located in St. Louis, Missouri, or Springfield, Virginia, and requires a TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI Polygraph. The anticipated base salary range is \$101,400–\$144,900. Eligible full-time employees receive the benefits described in the posting.

Responsibilities

Implement and apply technologies, processes, and practices to protect networks, devices, programs, and data from malicious attacks, damage, or unauthorized access.Provide engineering and sustainment support for endpoint security solutions.Establish computing environments by designing system configurations, directing system installation, and defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.Provide detailed information on hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools to meet business needs and current and future capacity requirements.Configure and install security products using Linux OS.Work with software vendors and the customer to research, analyze, and implement enterprise-wide security solutions, capabilities, and enhancements supporting business and mission goals.Assist with the design, analysis, testing, and implementation of secure architectures.Oversee security infrastructure sustainment, maintenance, and advanced configuration, including policy management, database administration, and security management tools.Oversee reporting, documentation, and investigation of security-related incidents and lead development and implementation of corrective measures.Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with six years of additional experience; additional experience may be considered in place of a degree.Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.CSSP Infrastructure Support certification within six months of hire.Ten years of technical experience in cybersecurity.Working knowledge of maintaining enterprise cybersecurity engineering requirements using some or all of Trellix, HBSS, Carbon Black Response/Protection, Microsoft ATA, and Tanium.Strong working knowledge of administering applications in a Linux environment.Experience with large-scale enterprise/global networks in a fast-paced, diverse environment.Understanding of and experience with the DoD Architecture Framework and other key DoD network architecture and strategic planning instructions.Experience providing status reports and products to senior management and customers.Experience planning, designing, and evaluating security systems and architectures.TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a CI Polygraph.Nice-to-haves
